CyberInsuranceBroker.ca respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, how it's handled, and your choices. It is written to align with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Who we are
CyberInsuranceBroker.ca is an independent educational resource operated by J.R. Genua, CCIS, a Registered Insurance Broker. Insurance services are provided by St. Andrews Insurance Brokers Ltd., a licensed Canadian insurance brokerage. You can reach us at jrgenua@standrewsinsurance.com.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to give us through a form on this site:
- Contact details, your name, email address, and (optionally) company name and phone number.
- What you asked for, for example, which guide you downloaded or that you requested a coverage review, and any message you include.
- Standard server logs kept by our hosting provider (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability, not used to identify or track you individually.
The free tools on this site (scorecard, calculator, checklists) run in your browser and do not require an email or send your answers to us.
Why we collect it & your consent
By submitting a form, you consent to us using your information to: deliver the resource you requested; respond to your enquiry; and contact you with educational information and follow-up about cyber insurance. We do not sell your personal information. You can withdraw consent at any time (see Your choices below).
Service providers & where your data is processed
We use trusted third-party providers to run the site and our communications. Some of these are located in the United States, which means your information may be processed or stored outside Canada and could be subject to the laws of that country:
- Website hosting & form capture, Netlify (United States).
- Email marketing & automation, Constant Contact (United States), connected via Make (automation service).
- Email correspondence, Microsoft 365.
We use providers that offer a comparable level of protection and limit their use of your information to providing services to us. Aside from these providers and, where applicable, St. Andrews Insurance Brokers Ltd. for servicing an insurance enquiry, we do not share your personal information with third parties except where required by law.
Retention
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, and we remove it on request.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any message.
- Access, correct, or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent, by emailing jrgenua@standrewsinsurance.com.
- If you have a concern we can't resolve, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Cookies
This site does not use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies. Any strictly necessary cookies are limited to basic site functionality; you can control cookies through your browser settings.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version.
